Tim McNutt

Helping One Guy Honors Tim McNutt

Tim McNutt is a man of unwavering commitment—to his wife, Amber, to his family, his faith, and his responsibilities. Tim works tirelessly to provide for his household, while navigating the immense challenges that come with caring for a child with complex medical needs. Their son, Elijah, was born with Pallister-Killian Syndrome (also known as tetrasomy 12p mosaicism), an ultra-rare genetic disorder. PKS is so rare that there are fewer than 50 cases in the US, and fewer than 500 worldwide. Because Elijah’s condition is considered ultra-rare, the family has little information on what to expect. Elijah has 14 active medical specialists, and has had 38 surgeries and procedures, with two more still to come this year. Elijah’s condition requires constant care and the presence of trained medical professionals whenever Tim and Amber need to leave Elijah home, and this significantly limits their ability to participate in activities that mean so much to them—especially attending church, a cornerstone of their spiritual life.

Amber made the difficult decision to leave her full-time job to become Elijah’s primary caregiver, a sacrifice that speaks volumes about the love and devotion within their family. Despite these challenges, Tim remains a pillar of strength—never wavering in his role as a provider, protector, and father.

This family embodies resilience and grace every single day. Tim’s journey is one of quiet heroism. Tim exemplifies the very spirit of Helping One Guy: a man facing life-altering circumstances with courage, humility, and love.
